The collection opens with Pac-Man Arrangement, a new interpretation of Pac-Man that mixes classic pellet-eating gameplay with sundry power-ups. Jails, ghost-nabbing pouches, strength builders, teleportation pads, and speed boosters are just a few of the many useful objects available in the games 22 arenas. Amusingly, the ghosts can make use of these items too. Three-dimensional visuals portray the jungle, factory, and park locales of Pac-Man Arrangement with relative ease, while familiar "doo doo doo" theme music is bolstered by the addition of new-age marimbas and steel drums.Next up is Pac-Man, the game that led to Pac-Man Fever in the first place. With only minor quibbles, this version of Pac-Man is the closest to arcade perfect since Namco Museum Vol. 1 hit the PlayStation in 1996. Navigating a maze of power pellets and Pac-hungry ghosts, you will be relieved to note that all the revered "wakka wakka" sound effects and graphical smoothness of Namcos original have hit Nintendos handheld intact. Since gameplay is spot on, right down to Blinkys tricky directional changes, about the only real criticisms lie in the games display options. Like Ms. Pac-Man in the Namco Museum compilation, Pac-Man forces you to choose between a diminutive full-screen option or a heavily cropped scrolling display, neither of which is very comfortable on the GBAs 2.9-inch screen.

gotta catch em all? |
|
i love almost everything about this game. its better than the last with pokemon contests, tv interviews, better bags, 2 on 2 battles and the graphics are also better. what i dont like, is that you cant transfer pokemons from the old games to the new. this is probably cause its a new system (advance vs color), but the worse is; you cant catch all pokemons in the game. you have to have an e-reader, and then cards to get the "old" pokemons. meaning if you dont have tons of friends playing, with e-readers, youll probably never gonna catch em all.

This is best the Pokemon game ever. |
We all like to have something to do on our holidays and Nintendo (being aware of this)have kept back their best selling series until we are all jetting off abroad on our hols. You start off as a young lad/lass who has just moved to a new town and, after saving the local pokemon know it all you get your first pokemon and embark on your quest. You have to defeat all the 8 gym leaders and then the elite four.Lifespan is extended with the enclusion of a battle tower where you must defeat 7 trainers in a row to exit. Not many additions have been made since the last outing and I was surprised that the developer didnt make use of the enhanced power of the GBAs graphics engine. Of the additions that have been made the best one is the contest mode.In it you enter your pokemon in a contest suiting its abilitys(be them cool, tough, smart, cute or beautiful)you then go against other pokemon to see which is e.g. the toughest. Despite being overely similar to the other pokemon games ruby makes for a thoroughly enjoying game and even if you have all the other pokemon games this is still an essential purchase. BUY IT!
